WHAT MAKES A XPRESS?
IT ALL BEGINS WITH FAMILY
Family owned and operated, Xpress Boats has been building quality aluminum boats in Arkansas since 1966. Starting out in a little schoolhouse in Friendship, Arkansas, Xpress Boats built the first all welded all aluminum boat. Xpress Boats discovered an untapped market in the boating industry and began to make a name for itself.
It was in the late 80’s when Xpress Boats transformed the aluminum boat with the creation of the Hyper-Lift® Hull. The first of its kind, this padded hull raised the bar on the performance, durability and style of the aluminum boat. This was truly a defining moment for Xpress Boats. Now boaters had the durability and strength of aluminum with the performance and style that had only been found on a fiberglass boat.
Through the years Xpress experienced tremendous growth, and in 2000 moved its headquarters to Hot Springs, Arkansas. Today, Xpress offers more choices and more value with the expanded Hyper-Lift® Series and the price friendly Xplorer Series.
Xpress is more than just a “pretty face”. It’s what you don’t see on an Xpress boat that is the most impressive. Beyond the beautiful exterior lies a durable all welded all aluminum foundation.
From the longitudinal rib system which creates an alliance of strength, to the welded in floor that provides a solid one piece unit, each Xpress is built tough and built to last. Also found on each Xpress is the latest in hull design. Whether it’s the Hydro-Dynamic (HD) Hull or the revolutionary Hyper-Lift® Hull, now you get better performance, better fuel economy and a sleeker style. Add to it a solid foundation, custom fit and finish, and well appointed features, you’ve got the quality Xpress is known for.
Xpress Boats has come a long way from the schoolhouse in Friendship. Today, we can be found in dealerships all over the world. As global as Xpress has become, it continues to hold fast to its commitment to its customer, to provide the best boat on the market at the best possible value. That’s Xpress’ promise to you.
The Original All-Welded Aluminum Boat
It was such a simple concept, but difficult to actually put into practice. Why drill holes on boat hulls and rivet them together? Holes leak, wood rots and your investment deteriorate over the years. Xpress Boats was the first to build by welding and as we approach 50 years and tens of thousands of boats built, you will find that the first is still the best. We build a sound foundation that you will appreciate and enjoy for years to come.
The Finest Aluminum
The finest 5052 aluminum alloy arrives at the Xpress Boats plant in coils. Each aluminum coil is unrolled onto a cutting table where boat components are precision cut using an automated computer-aided drafting (Auto CAD) program. Each individual part of your new Xpress Boat is perfectly cut every time.
After each component has been properly shaped, they are placed in storage racks, ready to be welded into your new Xpress Boat. Meanwhile, skilled craftsmen begin welding the hull together in preparation of bringing all of the components together to make your new Xpress Boat. The hull and components are all welded and married together without any rivets and screws.
High-end Hull Construction
Every void in your hull is filled with premium, environmentally-friendly expandable foam. This process adds both strength and flotation to your new Xpress Boat. To ensure peak performance and handling, every hull is checked for smoothness by our Quality Control team. By doing this meticulous inspection, you know your new Xpress boat will effortlessly glide across the water. With the welding and foam process completed, each new boat is moved into our state of the art paint prep area and a comprehensive cleaning process begins in preparation to painting.
Painting and Curing
Your new Xpress boat is painted with one of our custom formulated paints, and moved into one of our enormous temperature controlled ovens to cure the finish. After curing, your new Xpress boat is moved into our Rigging Department where all the final components are installed. Once again, Quality Control inspects your boat.
Once rigging is complete, each boat is placed on a custom BackTrack trailer. Finally, an optional Yamaha motor may be installed, completing the building process. Upon completion and final inspection, your new Xpress boat is moved into our 50 acre storage yard. Finally, your new Xpress boat is carefully loaded and transported to your local dealer for final prep and delivery to you.
