Loading Up A great ride starts with taking the time to get everyone safely onboard and situated. To begin with, never overload. The boat’s capacity in both pounds and persons is clearly displayed on the certification plate. In addition, your boat’s performance depends on both the weight and distribution of its load. Passengers should be distributed equally, from right to left and front to back — with particular attention given to the amount of weight in an open bow. And always remember to take into account the additional weight of live wells, coolers, skis and other gear.
